|Mr. Alex Riroriro
This quinquennium (2016 – 2020) has been experiencing an upsurging trend in the achievements for Youth departments. However, these achievements have not come without challenges but because we have set our minds on achieving our objectives, our efforts have been greatly rewarded so far. Therefore, this brief report basically, highlights our objectives and challenges for the quinquennium. Finally, the projection would be made to envisage the future of these departments in Northern Milne Bay Mission.
“To make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) who are actively involved in witnessing the gospel in the context of Revelation 14:6-12 through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.”
Building A People Of Power
Key Focus Areas:
- Nurture and Spiritual Growth
- Capacity Building
- Caring Church
Objectives:(1) Encourage every individual person, family, local church, district and the local mission as a whole to be missionally focused by making disciples.
(2) Be focused on training and mentoring young people for leadership responsibilities in Youth department.
(3) Increase resources needed for effective service delivery.
We have encountered challenges along the way and to name only a few, here is the list.
(1) Nurturing still remains a challenge to us.
(2) Financial constraint is still an issue to wrestle with.
(3) As a maritime local mission, transport will still be an issue.
In spite of that, we are adamant in our focus for the future development of this local mission. We, therefore, anticipate that by 2016;
(a) We would see a growth in YAPA membership throughout the mission.
(b) We would have organised YAPA clubs in all our local churches.
(c) We would have trained and graduated more Master Guides in local churches.
With the Lord leading us, Youth department will set to continue making a difference in Northern and Milne Bay Provinces. After all, with the Lord on our side, who can be against us? For it is not by power, nor by might but His Spirit as He promised in His word.
